St. Timothy’s Episcopal Outreach Center is a ministry of congregations of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington. STEOC is located on forty acres of land on Barnes Mountain adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest in Eastern Kentucky. Begun in 1982, STEOC has served this portion of Estill County, KY by making Christ known, not in what is said, but what is done. It is place to work within Appalachia and minister the love of Christ to children and well as adults.
Work Camps: are an opportunity for people to come to the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky and help with home repairs and improvements. It may include adding a ramp or porch to help the elderly have easier access to their homes; it may be repairing or replacing a leaky roof. Or you might find yourself under a mobile home adding insulation to make the home warmer during the winter. Anything from replacing broken windows, replacing water lines, plumping or building a wall to painting and planting gardens is within the ministry of STEOC.
In addition to the work camps, STEOC also provides day camps for local children, holiday parties, a community center, a food pantry, clothing bank, used appliances, and building materials for wooden caskets free of charge for those who have died.
